Genuine Anetoceras (4.75") Ammonite Fossil (2.5 lbs)

This ammonite is known as Anetoceras found in Morocco. It has an eye-catching form with an esthetically-carved matrix stand on a custom metal display. The Anetoceras is a genuine extinct marine cephalopod from the Early Devonian Period, approximately 400 million years ago. Ammonites were predatory mollusks that resembled a squid with a shell. These cephalopods had eyes, tentacles, and spiral shells. They are more closely related to a living octopus, though the shells resemble that of a nautilus.
