Crinoid (Codiacrinus) on Matrix from Morocco (1.4 lbs)
This Crinoid specimen is a remarkable example of an ancient sea lily or feather star. Its stem allows it to attach to the sea floor, swaying with the currents and using its tentacles to search for plankton and other nutrients. The calyx, or head, contains both its mouth and anus. In fantastic condition, this specimen has great detail, color, and preservation, with its background slightly stained to provide better contrast.
Weight: 1.4 lbs, Dimensions: 5 x .5 x 10.5 inches
